David Vranicar founded Priorities Matter, LLC in 2006 to provide healthcare and other support services to people who care for aging parents and other seniors, inspired by his experience caring for his own mother who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease. He created a comprehensive financial model and business plan for the company but was unable to raise sufficient initial financing to fund upfront software development and other start-up expenditures.

In 2005-2006, Vranicar consulted for the Kauffman Foundation at the University of Kansas Medical Center to develop a detailed financial model and business plan for KU’s proposed new National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center. Vranicar obtained and evaluated secondary data pertaining to cancer incidence, mortality, economic cost and research spending as critical inputs to the Center’s plans. His financial model served as the basis for the Center’s comprehensive business plan, which is now being aggressively implemented as the University’s top strategic priority.

Vranicar was a member of the founding management team that started Kansas City-based Birch Telecom in early 1997, serving from its inception as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Chief Information Officer. Earlier at Sprint, Vranicar played a key role in the development of Sprint’s overall strategy for the wireless and competitive local telephone market segments and was heavily involved in the initial formation of Sprint’s wireless business.

Before joining Sprint, Vranicar was Vice President of Asia/Pacific Operations at MPSI Systems Private Ltd. in Singapore. and as Senior Financial Analyst at Marion Laboratories in Kansas City, evaluating and pursuing numerous product licensing, joint research and development and other pharmaceutical business development opportunities.
