Pipeline: PIPELINE Innovators

Ben Tyson is President and CEO of Time Trails, Inc., a Wichita-based web technology company. His company has created a new, state-of-the-art visualization method of historical events based on time and geographical location around a virtual globe. Ben co-founded the company with his father, Karl, in the spring of 2009.

While attending Wichita State University as a member of the Emory Lindquist Honors Program, Ben self-financed journeys to Eastern Europe and the tropical rainforests of Central America to conduct anthropological research. He worked as the lead tour guide and in-house numismatist at a prominent regional museum, and held top positions at a four-star restaurant.

In the summer of 2008, Ben led a documentary film crew into the heart of Eastern Africa, capturing on camera humanitarian crises such as pediatric oncology, the Rwandan genocide of 1994, refugee camps on the Tanzanian borderlands and endangered flamingos in the Great Rift Valley.

In the fall of 2008, Ben founded an illustration and design company, Tyson Ink. He also is a prominent piano musician in the Wichita area, performing with his band “Emersons Fall”.
